Douglas Lowe II MD completed his undergraduate education at Morehouse College where he was a Summa Cum Laude and Department Honors Graduate. He is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.

Dr. Lowe graduated from Harvard Medical School with an M.D.  He is a member of the Aesculapian Club at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Lowe completed his medical internship, residency in internal medicine, and fellowship in gastroenterology at The Medical College of Georgia, Augusta University. He also served as Chief Medical Resident at The Medical College of Georgia. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine.

Dr Lowe is a partner physician in private practice with Southern Gastroenterology Specialists. He has been with the practice since 2006. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American Gastroenterological Association. He is dedicated to serving the needs of patients and the community by providing compassionate and evidence-based medical care. He is skilled in the clinical practice of gastroenterology and the use of electronic medical records (EMR).

Dr. Lowe enjoys reading, exercising, traveling, attending church, and spending quality time with his wife and two children.
